Ada Weishaupl In Front of Pelham Government

On Jan 13, fourth grader Ada Weishaupl stood before the Pelham Manor Board of Trustees and asked if there could be a menorah along with the Christmas decorations in December at Four Corners. Ada was successful and the Trustees agreed to have the menorah with the usual holiday decorations next December. ” I thought it was only fair,” Ada says, ” And the meeting was exciting.” When Ada found out they have approved her request, she was filled with mixed emotions. ” I was very happy,” she explains, ” But I was also nervous when I had to stand in front of them.” Ada wanted the menorah there because she didn’t celebrate Catholic holidays, Kwanzaa, or Ramadan. She celebrates Jewish holidays. Ada made a big difference in our community!
