Siwanoy students got a treat at Town Hall on Monday, March 19 when Sunetra Haldar, a Pelham mom with children at Hutchinson Elementary School, performed a dance about Holi, an Indian festival celebrating Spring. During Holi, people throw brightly colored powders at each other to mark a festive and fun start to the traditionally warmer temperatures that mark Spring around the world. This year, Holi was celebrated on March 2nd. Ms. Haldar also gave Siwanoy students an overview of major festivals from India and even taught them a few dance moves!
